2012

I’m a few days late to the whole “Happy New Year! This is is going to be the best year EVER!!!! OMG, I’m like so drunk right now.” bandwagon, but seriously….

Happy New Year, MDGC friends. I hope this year is filled with lots of new experiences and new blogs to fill your 3pm boredom at work.

I love the start of a new year. Of course, January 1st feels no different than December 31st, but when I look back on how much my life has changed in the past year, it makes me excited for what 2012 has to bring. Unfortunately for you, I made you all read about it. 2011 was a year of growing pains, but I hope 2012 is a year of enjoying the new life that I built in 2011. I received things in 2011 that I had always wanted like a husband and a great job, but no one told me adulthood wasn’t all high heels and dinner parties. No one told me that having an 8-5 job wouldn’t always be fun. No one told me that laundry and dishes don’t clean themselves. No one told me that cute puppies turn into crazy adolescents.

Yes, Mom, I know you told me all those things, but you should have known I wasn’t listening.

Every January 1st, everyone’s Facebook status’ and Twitter feeds blow up with optimism. No one starts a new year thinking they are going to have a terrible year or that they aren’t going to lose those last 10 pounds. I don’t like resolutions because no one takes them seriously, but I like making goals for the upcoming year. I know they are the same thing, but when has anyone ever stuck to their new year’s resolution?

Exactly. Never.

In 2012, I want to be a great wife to Eric, I want do more in my job, I want to write pee-in-your-pants hilarious blogs, and I want to grow something in my belly other than fat.

Stay tuned.
