The Final Wedding Phase (I hope?)

I have reached the final wedding phase.

I just want the wedding to be here and over with.

I’m still in the emotional wreck phase as well, but today marks 42 days until the wedding, and it’s go time. It seems like forever since I said “yes” and I’m ready to be Eric’s wife. I’m ready to be done with all this wedding stuff and move onto the next phase of our lives (see previous blog post). I’m done talking about the wedding, I’m done eating healthy, I’m done being Ms. Lidgett, and I’m done living my life without an extra diamond ring.

I don’t know how else to put it other than I’m just ready. Maybe things will feel differently when we are officially married, but Eric and I already feel like we are married with 3 kids, and it’s time to put a ring on it. When Eric and I first met, we quickly went from not knowing each other to married with kids because I moved in with him a month after I met him.

Sorry, Mom and Dad. When you know, you know.

Right from the start, Eric and I had to completely trust each other and become a blended family (with our pets, of course). Our conversations went from “Oh baby oh baby” to “Have you done the dishes yet?” really quickly. In under a year, we went from talking online, to moving in together, to getting engaged, to getting a puppy, so we didn’t really have time to just date and play hard to get. I was never really good at that game anyway. My version of playing hard to get was to be completely available at all times for any reason. Thankfully, eHarmony made me seem mysterious and skinny so I could meet the man of my dreams. Now, if eHarmony could just get rid of this back fat before I have to wear my wedding dress, I would really appreciate that.

So I hope these last 42 days fly by, and I hope this really is the last wedding phase I go through because I don’t think I can stay on this emotional rollercoaster much longer without barfing.
